Something you should know for Lithium Batteries Charging

1. When a lithium-ion battery is used, the system voltage cannot be identified automatically, please confirm the battery system voltage before installation.
2. When you choose lithium battery as a battery type, the temperature compensate coefficient would be 0, and cannot be changed.
3. This MPPT solar charge controller can work under full load in the ambient temperature range. when the internal temperature reach 81℃, the power reduction mode will be turned on.
4. Lithium battery type can ONLY be set on a cellphone app or "solar station monitor" PC software.

Warm tips：

Step: Connect the system in the order of 1.battery-->2. load-->3.PV array, and disconnect the system in the reverse order 3. 2. 1.

• NEVER connect the soalr panel array to the controller Without/Before a Battery.
• Battery must be connected FIRST !!!
• DO NOT connect any inverter/ wind/Alternator or Charger into the charge controller!
• If the remote temperature sensor is not connected to the controller,, the default setting for battery charging or discharging temperature is 25 °C without temperature compensation.
• The wire size is only for reference. If there is a long distance between the PV array and the controller or between the controller and the battery, larger wires can be used to reduce the voltage drop and improve performance.

1. Via PC (Accessories needed：RS485),

The Tracer BP series solar charge controller adopt to the advanced Maximum Power Point Tracking charging methods, it enables the system charging and discharging management to obtain the most radical optimization. Increase the system flexibility,yet lower down the system cost. The controller support a variety of battery, for example sealed, gel, flooded and lithium battery. User can view and modify the working status and parameters. It can be widely used on solar home system, traffic signal, solar street light, solar garden lamp, etc.

Maximum Power Point Tracking Technology

Due to the nonlinear characteristics of solar array, there is a maximum energy output point (Max Power Point) on its curve. Traditional controllers, with switch charging technology and PWM charging technology, can’t charge the battery at the maximum power point, so can’t harvest the maximum energy available from PV array, but the solar charge controller with Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) Technology can lock on the point to harvest the maximum energy and deliver it to the battery

The MPPT algorithm of our company continuously compares and adjusts the operating points to attempt to locate the maximum power point of the array. The tracking process is fully automatic and does not need user adjustment.

As the Figure 1-2, the curve is also the characteristic curve of the array, the MPPT technology will ‘boost’ the battery charge current through tracking the MPP. Assuming 100% conversion efficiency of the solar system, in that way, the following formula is established:
